The Rich Are People Too

Progressives have a bad habit of forgetting this simple fact:

No matter what you think, have you considered who they will come after after they have destroyed the creators of wealth.

Unfortunately, the 'rich' are now composed of two types of rich people;

type 1; those who have risked their own capital (or that of people they have signed up to join their schemes) to develop, build, create, generate jobs, or just plain and simple invest

type 2; those that have political involvements and/or have taken advantage of publically funded schemes or careers, which include, e.g., banks who have [been allowed to] set themselves up as 'too big to fail'

Type 1 are the makers, the drivers of activity and the generators of wealth and it is, as the article says, wholly wrong to set differential and punitive taxes against them as to do so is, effectively, society saying "stop what you are doing!!"

Type 2 should never have more wealth than the average wealth of tax payers.

I posit that these two types have gotten confused in people's minds, or they just don't understand, so tend to think redistrubution of wealth is a requirement onerous against all rich people.

In the UK there was a huge backlash against Hedge Fund companies over excess risk in the investment market. This is totally barking mad and shows to me the idiotic and disgusting side of human nature, because those funds that failed fully failed. They sunk. But it was their money to sink!!! Whereas the banks that had excessively risked other people's money had the temerity to suggest the hedge funds were at fault!!! Unnnnbbbbbelievable!

Type 1's pull the whole of society up out of the mud by the scruff of the neck, along with their [net] successful ventures and entreprenurial antics. Type 2's drag us down with their self-interest.
