...and usually several of the three.
A typically Democrat idea.
"Small employers, he said, could take their applicants to a government office to like the Department of Motor Vehicles and have their hands scanned there. "
Yeah, having to waste a half-day to a day at the DMV just to f*cking hire someone won't hurt unemployment stats.
That's just one good reason to object to the idiotic idea the WSJ brings to my attention in the article linked to below:

The Democrat Party is exclusively filled with morons who's brains are withered wombs only to misery, poverty, and the destruction of liberty.
The entire issue only arises because the feds in charge won't let the states that want to find the illegals in the workforce, and they won't let the fed agencies who would do it do it either. Back about 2006ish up through 2008, I recall news stories about illegals streaming back over the border so they wouldn't be caught when the feds were conducting all those raids of agricultural processing plants, esp. chicken plants.
We cannot have unrestricted immigration and the nanny state. Let's get rid of the nanny state, and then enforce origin neutral immigration quotas--it's not perfect but at least is possible and not hurtful to the body politic.
We are under no obligation to be Mexico or Latin America's safety valve.

In other words we would not have so many troubles with Mexico and Latin America if we did not have a policy of destroying civil society there with drug prohibition.MSimon wrote:You will like my:

Unlike alcohol prohibition we have exported most of the violence. It does not make us immune from the effects.

I absolutely agree we should end the prohibition of recreational drugs. There is no good reason to continue it. Every bad consequence of their use is made less problematic with the admission of daylight and application of free will.
It's purely the political application of Christ's golden rule, a la Jefferson, "if it's not breaking my knees or picking my pockets.."
Ok, so I kid.

I want to add, that I have to have my fingerprints checked every time I visit the US and I am not even a US citizen. So having your fingerprints scanned seems fair to me. It is still kinda silly though, if you ask me and it is wont change a thing. Most employers that employ illegal aliens in the US, do so knowingly...

It is traditional in America for citizens to resist government attempts to treat them like cattle. And the level of resistance is rising. The left in the 60s used to be totally against this sort of thing. Look up: Do Not Fold Spindle or Mutilate. There was considerable resistance then to be treated like a piece of data.
And that R guy? I don't think he will survive his next election. He would be called in these parts (the USA) a Republican In Name Only. RINO.
