What is it with politics in the US? The only "qualified" candidates are certifiably insane.
I thought they paid those guys (Generals) to think outside the box.
Hillary, West, most of the other Republicans are pro WOD as far as I know....Libertarian candidates don't seem to have the votes to win in a national elections; your best hope for ending WOD is through the States, same as you know prompted the end of alcohol prohibition. However there is the possibility of Obama after the current "review" of pot category one status is complete, may decide to re-classify it by executive fiat--you know how much he likes that. If the Republicans win control of the Senate and retain the House he may decide to do it during his last two lame duck years just to f*&k with the Conservatives.
This, if it becomes common knowledge could totally screw with the Republicans:
LOL, the mythological Philosopher - General King (Queen) to make the right decisions for us, to rule over us, protect us, and take care of us... there is no such thing. It is a Plato fantasy latched on to by the Progs. If only gubermant did the right things then big gubermant would be oh so good for us. Such a being only existed through the rewrite of history.
Counting the days to commercial fusion. It is not that long now.

The anti-Progs practice similarly while believing differently.
BTW did you follow my link on the Republicans torturing children for fun and profit? I also posted it at:

I doubt if it will do much, the main streamer republicans will just repudiate/deny the degree of their affiliation; reminds me a bit of the gay de-programming or whatever you want to call it supposedly run by Michelle Bachman's husband (who himself is rumored to be gay). Best vector of change right now is the States; elected judges (rather than appointed for life federal judges; one big thing the founders got wrong); the state legislature and ballot initiatives. We maybe don't need a strong imperial president right now, a relatively weak one and a sharply divided Congress tends to empower the states to act on their own. It was the States (pushed by the NRA) not the Feds that energized the concealed carry movements as well as the Castle Doctrine/SYG laws; Holder and Obama don't like either much, but there isn't much they have been able to do about either. Legalizing Pot and hopefully eventually ending the WOD is another example unfolding before us.

I have passed the information on to some people who may be able to use it in Florida.
MSimon you give Obama entirely too much credit, he lacks the skill set necessary to "setup" a darn thing. He started as a centrist, there is no doubt about that, but he utterly lacked the necessary political power skills required to manipulate other powerful people and effectively lead a government that fights amongst itself by design (the Constitution pretty much guarantees the infighting as a way of keeping any one entity from amassing too much power). He's got charisma and really appeals to the younger demographics, but otherwise is entirely too green to actually accomplish anything. He had two major responsibilities, the first is commanding the military and while he hasn't been stellar, he's at least smart enough to listen to people who know far more then he does about running a military (JCoS / SecDef / ect..). His other one is foreign policy and he's completely frick that chicken. So if I were to give a 100% impartial rating (as I'm a moderate centrist with zero political allegiances) I'd grade him as a C. Not a complete failure but not exactly a picture of success either. Of course when your the PoTUS the world can't afford you to be a C student.

Local government tends to have the greatest impact on long term chance. It's incredibly to advocate for the WoD when the state voters made it legal by a ballot initiative. Just imagine the hell an elected official would go through if CO or WA if they tried to enforce the federal law and actively prosecute cannabis. They wouldn't win their next election and would probably lose in the primary to an usurper. So as each state makes it legal, it's illegal status would eventually vanish at the federal level, if for no other reason then political expediency.
