I want an affordable car that doesn't ever rust. Yes, I know about polymer body panels and fiberglass (and even stainless steel) that have been used in the past. But I want the frame to be immune too

Now it just needs self-fixing to not look like melted tuperware.

Jag's have an aluminum engine, transmission, body and frame. I used to drive an XKR convertible and when I went to put a hide-a-key on it there was nowhere to put it.JoeP wrote:I want an affordable car that doesn't ever rust. If you like luxury/performance cars, I highly recommend the XKR. If you buy them 3 years pre-opwned you can get them with almost no miles at 60% less than retail. I drove mine almost every day for 7 years. It's that comfortable and still gives the 'Vette a run for its money. The F type that replaces it has the benefit of the active exhaust stolen from the Lambo, where the baffles get out of the way when you step on it, but the interior is cheaper and it has no back seat, so I'm not convinced it's a better car. Really depends if you need a back seat I guess.
Only car I've ever driven that had not a single rattle or resonance in it. You don't even notice the quiet until you drive another car and hear the dash creaking. They changed the dash to cheaper on the F Type so who knows if it's still that way.
