A Uighur separatist group from Xinjiang, China, has attempted a terrorist attack on Tienanmen Square using a car loaded with explosives. The car was stopped short of the square, and its cargo burned instead of exploding, but the Chinese cannot fail to note the significance of this cause's fighters attacking their capitol.
US readers can approximate this as the attack on the Murrah Building by Timothy McVeigh, if the bomb had not gone off but had only caught fire.
I've been predicting this was going to get juicy for ten or fifteen years now.

We need a directorate of science, and we need it to be voted on only by scientists. You don't get to vote on reality. Get over it. Elected officials that deny the findings of the Science Directorate are subject to immediate impeachment for incompetence.
