I don't think that most people of the Progressive mindset connect that coercing people to do what they want lead directly to the sort of horrors that have happened over and over in different places. I find it interesting that John Hinderaker tries to paint "sheeplike obedience", "tribal appeals", and "us vs. them" as especially belonging to the Democrats.
On the other Hand, Jonathan Haidt found in-group/loyalty and authority to be much stronger influences in conservative moral matrices.
