dodecahedron

Post by bobshipp »

Dr. Bussard had envisioned that WB-8 would be a dodecahedron. At this time, if a 1 million dollar grant was available to further the advance of the polywell effort, would it best be used to have the Nebel team build and test a dodecahedron? Are there other uses that might be more productive? Is there not enough information available to make an intelligent choice? Are there other people who are more qualified to make this judgment? If so who?

Bob,

The next small step is a continuous operation machine. Seconds.

However it may require a big honking power supply. Figure something in the $5 to $10 million range.

What can be done with $1 million has already been done. In terms of proof of principle anyway. A lot will need to be done with small machines as test beds for a larger machine.

However, the next thing we really need more than anything else is continuous operation. A confidence builder.

OK Lets close out this topic and open a new one entitled WB-8 and WB-9. In which we speculate as to what WB-8 and WB-9 might actually look like and what it would take to fund each.
