I'd like to see a new twist on this experiment - a sapphire
Mobius band with SC layer.
I'm having difficulty visualizing how the mostly-expelled, pinned magnetic field would wrap itself around such an object.

That is one of the coolest things I have seen. And I have seen some pretty cool stuff.

Makes sense they tried this. I recall HP tried silicon-on-sapphire technology a few decades ago. It sounded expensive until you find out just how cheap synthetic industrial sapphire is. I would expect a more robust product than the silver-foil sandwiches of powder I've hand the chance to mess with.
