BTW - the pessimism about waste storage is a bit over the top in places. The correct number is given in the article though. - Monitoring for 300 to 600 years - is the correct number.

The JT-60 reactor reached conditions necessary for Q=1.25 for D-T, but that's based on theoretical considerations; it doesn't quite count.

We'll have to reprocess nuclear waste to get enough fuel to last for any significant period of time. The fears of accidents are overblown. The opponents who say "we can't" also fail to offer any concrete plans that are better.
