Man arrested at Large Hadron Collider claims he's from the future

Image

A would-be saboteur arrested today at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland made the bizarre claim that he was from the future. Eloi Cole, a strangely dressed young man, said that he had travelled back in time to prevent the LHC from destroying the world.

I'd let him go just for coming up with such a good line of bullshit! :)

Hmm. Since he lived to get here, then his mission must have been a success.

Not necessarily. But one of the multitude of attempts did succeed. After all, history will record those attempts that failed publicly and the future gang will know of all attempts. Its a mater of narrowing it down to the attempts that are more nearly successful, until one of them works.

Logically, if the LHC destroyed the world, he would not have lived through that destruction to tell about it, never mind go back in time from that future.

Secondly, physics is pretty clear that it takes more energy than the LHC handles, to travel through time, so if anything destroyed anything, his time travelling did it.

In one very unusual event combining the peak deposition of LHC power and THREE cosmic rays, the LHC produced a micro black hole that fell thru the core of Earth, evaporating at ALMOST the rate it aquired new mass. It took several centuries until the BH grew big enough to be detected by which time the Earth's fate was sealed. In a last desparate attempt, the WGHC (world girdling hadron collider) was used to send the man back. He was successful, but died from the exposure.

next time you future idiots travel back in time to our time, be sure to bring some PROOF that you came from the future... like sports results, list of people who died in the year (and when). Sending an intelligent robot with a quantum computer for brains would also do the trick.

if you guys are not reading these tips, it means that talk-polywell.org hasnt survived for posteriority.

Maybe he appeared when he did because the LHC created a portal on this end of the time stream?

Wouldn't that mean its already too late?

The only way it could ever be "already too late" is if the future decided to fund a one-off mission with no follow-up mission possibility.

If the guy is an individual on a crackpot mission, then the future in general is in no risk and has no concern, but if there is serious risk, then the future would fund as many missions as it took to insure success or else totally bankrupt the future in failure.

Most likely, the future is in a prolonged debate about how serious the problem really is and are in a quandary about the information requests under freedom of information that have been declined. There are probably a few researchers, maybe one in Australia and another in New York, who are tired of waiting and are working on their own. Did anyone happen to hear the time traveler's accent to identify where he is from?

Hey, we have heavier publication prohibitions than EMC2 does on this simple Polywell thingy. Don't wait up!
