Giorgio -- I expect Alan is in much the same position as we are. If EMC2 is not giving interviews, then that's that. We can hope.

I'm very encouraged by how much alt-fusion funding is happening now, Bezos' General Fusion interest being the latest. If enough other groundhogs are sticking their heads out, it might ease the worry at ONR...
n*kBolt*Te = B**2/(2*mu0) and B^.25 loss scaling? Or not so much? Hopefully we'll know soon...

.. or thinks that he has already put the effort into reporting EMC2 and such unfertile efforts mean that they deserve no further focused attention?

I thought we were consistent, here, in our recognition of the maxim "never put down to intent what you can put to incompetence". No news from EMC2... intent or...?

You both make a valid point that I have considered before.
Maybe as a journalist he is really not interested to talk about something where he cannot have any new info.
Or maybe they really asked him not to treat about this issue for the time being. He does not own to us any reply of course, yet I was expecting something more from him.

In my contacts with Allan he always seemed super interested in Polywell. But for a story he needs news. No news no story.

Maybe we could figure out if it's possible to get some retrospective reporting on the project, after it succeeds. If it does. And what the best way to go about such a reporting piece would be.

An off the wall idea. It would be great to see, then, what we're missing on now.

That reminds me... IEC2011 should be coming up soon. It's usually been in October. I think it's back in WI this year.

I think it's almost time again, here is the link so no one has to go digging for it once the time comes:
http://www.recovery.gov/Transparency/Re ... pId=212569

I will be disappointed if they basically say the same thing again without so much as another hint at more scaling information :( but I am prepared for it.

Predicted best case scenario this quarter: they decide they have all the "positive results" they need and start working on 8.1 early.

Predicted worse case scenario: WB-6 all over again - burn it out on accident and need more funding in spite of ridiculously good positive results.
