I have nothing against Elon, its just in my country providing donations to political parties to secure government loans is frowned upon, public donations of up to $500.00 by an individual to a party is the limit. My complaint would be with a political system that forces a business man to provide such payments to secure such loans, not the individual himself.
He is not allone in this. Whatever he did is miniscule to the special interest groups like the defense and security companies. Ideally none of all that would be happening, but this is Washington and thats the way it has been for decades...

Very true, the system sucks people into a legal grey area where they can eventually be compromised. Then when a rival wants to get them, they hire a politician to start investigating past dealings.
