LENR Is Real
Re: LENR Is Real
E-cat World have a link to Brilliant Light Power's latest two hour demo video to generate power @ 0.1 cents/kW.
Seems to me there are a lot of difficult engineering problems, so their forecast of commercial units next year looks optimistic to me. Mills argues that the device is sufficiently cheap that they would just swap them out, but I would like to see several units run for up to a year in order to get a better handle on the problems before they are out in the field.
Amongst other things Mills claims quantum mechanics is wrong. He does have a point.

Hi Parallel!
Just wondering why you won't critique my previous analysis on steam flows or enthalpy? I anxiously await for you to debunk what I posted. (Well, ok, maybe not anxiously, but I do wish you would try).
Oh, almost forgot; Rossi is full of shit.

A simple method for rating potentially revolutionary contributions to physics:
Like golf a low score is prefered
A -5 point starting credit.
1 point for every statement that is widely agreed on to be false.
2 points for every statement that is clearly vacuous.
3 points for every statement that is logically inconsistent.
5 points for each such statement that is adhered to despite careful correction.
5 points for using a thought experiment that contradicts the results of a widely accepted real experiment.
5 points for each word in all capital letters (except for those with defective keyboards).
5 points for each mention of "Einstien", "Hawkins" or "Feynmann".
10 points for each claim that quantum mechanics is fundamentally misguided (without good evidence).
10 points for pointing out that you have gone to school, as if this were evidence of sanity.
10 points for beginning the description of your theory by saying how long you have been working on it. (10 more for emphasizing that you worked on your own.)
10 points for mailing your theory to someone you don't know personally and asking them not to tell anyone else about it, for fear that your ideas will be stolen.
10 points for offering prize money to anyone who proves and/or finds any flaws in your theory.
10 points for each new term you invent and use without properly defining it.
10 points for each statement along the lines of "I'm not good at math, but my theory is conceptually right, so all I need is for someone to express it in terms of equations".
10 points for arguing that a current well-established theory is "only a theory", as if this were somehow a point against it.
10 points for arguing that while a current well-established theory predicts phenomena correctly, it doesn't explain "why" they occur, or fails to provide a "mechanism".
10 points for each favorable comparison of yourself to Einstein, or claim that special or general relativity are fundamentally misguided (without good evidence).
10 points for claiming that your work is on the cutting edge of a "paradigm shift".
20 points for emailing me and complaining about the crackpot index. (E.g., saying that it "suppresses original thinkers" or saying that I misspelled "Einstein" in item 8.)
20 points for suggesting that you deserve a Nobel prize.
20 points for each favorable comparison of yourself to Newton or claim that classical mechanics is fundamentally misguided (without good evidence).
20 points for every use of science fiction works or myths as if they were fact.
20 points for defending yourself by bringing up (real or imagined) ridicule accorded to your past theories.
20 points for naming something after yourself. (E.g., talking about the "The Evans Field Equation" when your name happens to be Evans.)
20 points for talking about how great your theory is, but never actually explaining it.
20 points for each use of the phrase "hidebound reactionary".
20 points for each use of the phrase "self-appointed defender of the orthodoxy".
30 points for suggesting that a famous figure secretly disbelieved in a theory which he or she publicly supported. (E.g., that Feynman was a closet opponent of special relativity, as deduced by reading between the lines in his freshman physics textbooks.)
30 points for suggesting that Einstein, in his later years, was groping his way towards the ideas you now advocate.
30 points for claiming that your theories were developed by an extraterrestrial civilization (without good evidence).
30 points for allusions to a delay in your work while you spent time in an asylum, or references to the psychiatrist who tried to talk you out of your theory.
40 points for comparing those who argue against your ideas to Nazis, stormtroopers, snakes, or brownshirts.
40 points for claiming that the "scientific establishment" is engaged in a "conspiracy" to prevent your work from gaining its well-deserved fame, or suchlike.
40 points for comparing yourself to Galileo, suggesting that a modern-day Inquisition is hard at work on your case, and so on.
40 points for claiming that when your theory is finally appreciated, present-day science will be seen for the sham it truly is. (30 more points for fantasizing about show trials in which scientists who mocked your theories will be forced to recant.)
50 points for claiming you have a revolutionary theory but giving no concrete testable predictions.

We're going to jury trial...or not???

This looks more like they agreed to allow a mediator with regard to discovery. Can't wait to get this started.

Re: LENR Is Real
Not yet. The court has yet to rule on the Motion to Dismiss. I think that this may happen this week or next. It may well go to trial, but with a limited number of complaints, maybe even down to one, or none. I personally do not think all the complaints will stand, some of it seems non-sensical. While I am no lawyer, I have been engaged in processes on occasion in a former life role, and even had the privilege to preside over hearings as a chair. The lawyers held my hand...
The court is merely following its own management process and fragging the schedule. If the case falls apart, it is easier to clear allocated court resources than add them in the long view.

That's what I was thinking. The late dates are just placeholders in the event it goes to trial. I sure hope they get going soon, it really is a show to behold.ladajo wrote:Not yet. Re: LENR Is Real
What is more fascinating is watching idiotic debates on Vortex and even the LENR forum. I stopped reading Acland's nonsense ages ago. In any event, it is just a repeat of what mostly gets sourced at LENR and Vortex.
These days it has boiled down to ad-hominems galore, with a certain few folks claiming inside knowledge, but not willing to share due to gentleman's agreements or NDAs.
The simple logic prevails in my mind: If Rossiclown had something, anything close to what he has claimed, or even a magnitude less, it would be so easy for him to prove decisively. Instead, each "test" or "demonstration" becomes more complex using new techniques for no good reason. All he has ever had to do is re-run what he has tried, and address the critique points. That is how real science is done. And, if he really had something, and shown it conclusively to any of his "secret" customers over the last five years who have bought any of his claimed 14 odd units that he has sold, it would have taken off like wildfire. Yet, here we are, still nothing but Rossisaid, where each cycle gets bigger, broader, grander, and more implausible. This latest idiocy regarding QuackX being a 1mm wire, 10 cm or whatever long that magically produces 100 Watts of power (for how long??? a year???) with no burn up or fuel input? And don't get me started about his "I can't self power my units because it is unstable and dangerous" bullshit to avoid showing a closed loop no input power out from his infinite energy machines. He is so stupid in that regard, he can't explain why it is not possible to use his magical power output to float a battery that acts as the input source... or a generator, or whatever. Typical nonsense from clowns like him.
And, let us not talk about his demonstrated idiocy when it comes to thermodynamics. I am pretty sure that if I ended up in a room with that idiot, he would pull a "Rossi" and get stupid angry and storm out within 120 seconds after not being able to answer a couple of simple straight-forward questions about his heat generation and handling. I base this on his documented history of doing such when encountering folks that actually know what they are talking about.
I am excited to see him crushed by a court, either in this suit he filed or in a counter suit by IH to nail him for deception, recover investments, and damages. I am also excited to see his lying, cheating, fraudulent ass put back in jail where it belongs. The damage he is doing/has done to legitimate researchers trying to take an honest look at LENR probably can not be accurately measured any more.
We shall see. I would absolutely LOVE to be wrong about Rossiclown, however, I am not going to hold my breath. There is too much accumulated shit to smoke him. That said, Hillary certainly seems to be getting away with it so far...

Re: LENR Is Real
Well, it looks like IH & Co. went for Rossiclown's jugular. They have filed their answer and claim the entire engagement was a fraud by Rossi. They are seeking full damages, including court costs and attorney fees. I don't think they have any intent to settle out of court, seems like they are looking to burn Rossi down, and probably seek criminal charges in addition to the civil suit to put him back in jail.
More to follow as the IH Answer package is digested.
Anyone want to take odds on if Rossiclown flees the country, like he tried to do with Italy?
Oh, almost forgot! HI PARALLEL? How are you?
Rossi is full of shit (and probably going back to jail).

For those who are interested, and want to give it a read, here is a link to the IH Answer as filed with the court yesterday. It does not include the cited exhibits. Those are becoming available on the net as they are uploaded from the court tracking site, Pacer.

Re: LENR Is Real
I guess its almost time to break out more bags of popcorn for the IH/Rossiclown fun.

Re: LENR Is Real
Yup, definitely gonna take some popcorn to get to the bottom of this one. As I understand, Rossiclown now has 20 days to file an Answer to the Counter-Claim. He could also (I think and speculate), file a counter Motion for Dismissal of IH's Counter-Claim. Either way, things are looking more fun, and Rossiclown continues to paint himself into a corner methinks. I wonder at what point the court will ask for his Passport? I also wonder when criminal charges are going to be filed, the State and Federal tax issue is one I have pondered before, and now IH has put it on the table and claimed Rossiclown has not paid taxes on any of the money he took.

Dr Andrea Rossi:
What do you think of the counterclaims made by IH deposited today ? It seems to me that they shoot at their feet, because they collected millions of dollars based on the reports made by the ERV during the first nine months of the test ! I think they made heavy slanders, you should not have difficulty to defend your position.
How do you comment ?

I do not comment on issues that have to be treated in Court.

I would also offer that one of the two parties in this case has exposed themselves to Florida Statute § 57.105(1).
Which allows for the court to take action against parties and their attorneys for filing claims or defenses without a factual or legal basis.
Someone is lying in the claims, and my money is on Rossiclown given his history.
