3. The Polywell Fusion Experiment at the Energy Matter Conversion Corp. (EMC2). Polywell fusion is an innovative confinement concept for fusion energy that utilizes a combination of electrostatic plasma confinement (of ions) and 3D magnetic cusp confinement (of electrons). Our group is fielding millimeter wave diagnostics of plasma density.

Isn't this just a rehash of the report from the government of New Mexico where they got the Los Alamos Federal labs to do some diagnostics?

Or maybe not - that was high speed video.

Tom Ligon was into microwave diagnostics. He might have a word or two on the subject.

that page was supposedly last updated June-04-2010. and looks like that might have been a recent item. off-site collaboration team.

wonder if they have any beans to spill, anecdotes they'd like to share with us ...

very tenuous connection, one of the new first year grad students here at U of iowa got her EE degree at UNM, could see if she recognizes him.
