Then, I remembered gamboling about during afternoon tea parties at Great Aunty Ethel's while the growed-ups sat about on folding party chairs sipping and nibbling wearing big hats. I think I am going to need some sort of therapy after this flashback.... 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves did gyre ...

I wonder whether keeping the barium titanate caps deeply cold would help to preserve their function during operation.

Re: Supernova to Destroy Earth! Sometime...
A star that's closer than thought is on "the verge" of going supernova: T Pyxidis 3,260 light years - is that really close enough to sterilize? By "on the verge" they meant "within several million years". No one seems to be considering that stars move relative to each other. Where will this star be...

So, there's no news (and a patent has been allowed to lapse) because: 1. There is no news. Things haven't gone well. or 2. Things look promising enough that the Navy has decided to shroud everything in secrecy. Who knows when, if ever, the public will hear about it. Political forces may kill it even...

No conclusive demonstration model or anything to make it more plausible, however, just big plans.

If we were descendents of some advanced alien species, we would not share genes with even the most primitive of lifeforms on earth as we are. Why do you say this? Surely if an alien species turned up and needed quick adaptation for their future offspring, then engineering-in native genetic adaptati...

Re: In the beginning...reverse evolution.
Sorry, no. Genome sequencing has demonstrated that we are most definitely linked to the other primates. Not sure that counters what I am saying. I am not aware the evidence shows us to be 'decendants' of apes, only that we share common ancestors. (So I agree we can be shown to be 'cousins', but not...

Re: In the beginning...reverse evolution.
Just some thoughts I had today, the like of which seem to be enjoyed on this forum: I was debating in my thoughts just now why it might be that the original hebrew Genesis begins by naming god as 'elohim', which I understand to be a female plural and a word with strong associations with 'coming fro...
