Another article, this time with the full NASA paper inside (second link, after Wired):

Re: EM Drive

Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with Woodwards theory and his work, but I have a problem with this experimental setup, which has obvious flaws. Where did you see in GIThruster's comment a reference to Woodward's theory (or his experimental setup)? He was talking about any experiment invo...

Re: EM Drive

I have not seen Shawyers test setup, but Fettas test setup does not attach the powersupply to the thruster but brings in power from an external source. That is IMHO a flaw in the experimental setup. FYI in October 2006 Shawyer tested a resonant cavity on a rotating rig, the whole system weighing 10...

Re: EM Drive

A perhaps more detailed experimental description. One red flag is that the test article and a supposed null control both apparently produce thrust... which suggests either the test setup is flawed or the physics is confounding... http://ntrs.nasa.gov/search.jsp?R=20140006052 Dan Tibbets No, the NAS...

Re: EM Drive

Eagleworks' paper "Anomalous Thrust Production from an RF Test Device Measured on a Low-Thrust Torsion Pendulum" is presented today at the 50th AIAA Joint Propulsion Conference in Cleveland. The abstract talks about experiments made at NASA JSC since January 2014 on both the Cannae drive and the EmD...

Re: EM Drive

I wasn't referring to Eagle's recent work. I was referring to Sonny and Paul's work several years before there was an Eagleworks. To the best of my knowledge however, Eagle has not had any positive results that did not vanish when the coupling problem was solved, part from those generated by the sw...

Re: EM Drive

I do not have the same analysis on the data available. I would point out that Shawyer received government support from the Brits for something like a decade despite his theory violates conservation, and after a decade of no results, he moved on. Over the years Shawyer reported positive results for s...

Re: EM Drive

GIThruster, I think you may be interested in Brans-Dicke theory, as it involves Mach's principle and relies on the scalar potential Φ also used by Sciama, that is at the root of Woodward's Mach Effect Thruster that I know you're interested in. The founding paper: • Brans, C. H.; Dicke, R. H. (1 Nove...

Re: EM Drive

Amazing to me folks still don't get that this violates' conservation. In terms of classical electromagnetism, yes. Even with the bits of special relativity added by Roger Shawyer. But the thrust produced by resonant EM cavities does not violate the laws of conservation of momentum and energy if the...

Re: EM Drive

I don't understand all this "I'll believe it when it's above the noise" scheme. Jim Woodward has results in the ten micronewton range with his Mach Effect Thrusters, and some scientists ask for repeatable experiments orders of magnitude higher in the millinewton range just to be sure "to be above th...

Using search with "EM Drive" shows a thread already exists: viewtopic.php?t=2949
There's nothing new about it since the last posts almost a year and a half ago.

Re: Eric Lerner / LPP Focus Fusion: AMA Reddit

Apparently they simply don't have the money. From their web site: To demonstrate that focus fusion works we are installing tungsten electrodes in May and expect a big boost in energy output. Tungsten is fine for impurity, but absorbs too many x-rays, so we need beryllium electrodes next to achieve o...

Eric Lerner / LPP Focus Fusion: AMA Reddit

LPP Chief Scientist Eric Lerner is on Reddit for an Ask Me Anything Q&A session, July 3rd 2014, from 3pm to 5pm EDT . He will answer various questions especially about the crowd-funding effort on IndieGoGo , launched to build a beryllium electrode for the Dense Plasma Focus. The Q&A is on the subred...

Re: Mach Effect progress

Woodward's theory is very different from the ZPF, QVF, White stuff you're comparing it with. In M-E theory, the ability to generate negative mass does in theory create the ability to create a warp field, but that field is probably easier to build and cheaper to build as a wormhole generator than as...
