Re: New Polywell Article On HotGas
Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg might have been better at programming the year they graduated high school than the average computer science engineer graduating the same year, but I'm pretty sure neither of them has ever called themselves computer science engineers. College dropouts and people with non-...
Re: EMC2 news
Or it could be just another non-EMC2 polywell project like other non-EMC2 polywell-like projects, whether private, open source or university based. I couldn't find at least by first sight any part where they claim to be the EMC2 company re-organized. One option is that EMC2 couldn't employ Paul Siec...

The mainstream media in Canada will not report this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40Jz0LPQAQY Why does he not offer some links to some facts at the video description, but some bitcoin donation link? Kinda reminds me of other emotional bullshitters, who try to force you to watch some long blather...

Re: Joe Eck hits Tc = 119 C, 246 F
Since the volume fraction of the superconductive phase is only around 0.1% of the bulk, this means the correlation is 200 to 400 times as great as the VF. This is likely due to the "proximity effect", where nearby non-superconducting molecules take on superconductive properties. In this case those ...

Re: Endocannabinoids Are In Every Animal With A Backbone
Every multicellular organism has endocrine system. Since all multicellular organisms have hormones, this means that steroids are obviously good and any ban or regulations on anykind of steroids should obviously be abolished.

Are you guys getting this to play right? I keep locking up at the Question on Plasma Stability slide. My browser stops loading at that point. If you have trouble with playing it on your browser, you could download the whole video as mp4 or wmv. I just downloaded both of them my hard drive, it took ...

Re: Seeking assistance with a plan for well-funded polywell
And if the education leaves out something important? So? It is still the title for specific degrees, and shouldn't be hijacked and redefined as something else. As job description, electrical engineer is so vague and non-specific, that it would be stupid to redefine that term from a well defined one...

Re: Seeking assistance with a plan for well-funded polywell
I bet 99% those people applying without degree are not going to call themselves computer science engineers, but rather programmers or someting else, because computer science engineer is a title for specific education, not skill set. Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg might have been better at programming ...

Re: Seeking assistance with a plan for well-funded polywell
I agree with MSimon- in engineering in particular there is no direct correlation between credentials and ability. Naturally those who've spent lots of time and money in schools will tend to be credentialist. That's not the issue. All elephants are gray (except albino ones) but not everything that i...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)
Some Rossi advocates have tried to defend him by trying to argue that because he is such a poor con man, not convincing and slick, that means that he is no con man. He does not look or act like a con man -- he inspires no confidence; In my opinion, Rossi would make the world’s worst con man, because...

Re: Dr. Park to speak at UW-Madison
I would wager that Dr. Park has submitted new patents given the release of the paper in the wild. He is not one to leave himself and EMC2 unprotected. Or maybe there is nothing to patent at the moment. You can't patent "We've done further tests and it seems to work as suggested in previous patents ...

Re: Dr. Park to speak at UW-Madison
There was an encouraging amount of American VC interest in 2007, and they were capable of raising the whole amount, though probably not willing to do so in a lump sum with no milestones of proof. Even if the results were good, VC could be cautious because the patent situation is worse than in 2007 ...

Re: 20 years away, and always will be
This chart is the same as the chart published in 1976, except it is inflation adjusted. As you can see the funding never got in the "fusion in 20 years range", rather it has pretty much always been in "fusion never" range, nobody ever promised fusion with piss poor funding in 20 years, so it's silly...
