All the stars in the Universe will look after Bussard.
His science will not die with him unless we let it.

Re: Rockets!
What are the possibilities of using Polywell as a rocket? What can be done? Relativistic electron beams are mentioned. What of this? I have not read this whole thread and I dont intend to do it either. Just have one comment. Tom Ligon on the Space Show said that IEC Fusion rocket cocept is the hard...

Re: Adm. Jay Cohen to Speak
That is correct. I think it was on the Space Show or on the Google Fusion talk I herd Bussard say it was Cohen who keept it all alive and under the 'radar'.

Re: Energy Balance Formula for Polywell
Can anyone tell me what the reactor radius would be to achieve these fusion power levels? In every case that's less than 7 percent net power. Someone said that this is the technology that would power an industrial and capitalist society and that my Wind Ladder wouldn't work. But my inflatable wind ...

Very interesting stuff. I have seen Indreks YouTube movies and I liked them so much I saved them to my computer hdd and converted them to *.avi's. Maybe you could put your finished work up on YouTube aswell DrMike? Btw I have a question. I know why Polywell would need a ion gun. To get higher densit...

I expect absolutely nothing but I want Dr Bussard to get a fair chanse to test out his theories. Fully funded and with no strings attached to know once and for all if this concept has any merit. We all know fusion can work (The Sun). We just need to find the right concept to get it to work. And his ...

Sorry guys, I don't understand most of this thread (balloons?!?). But to reiterate the reasons behind the "evangelical" group of forums: Evangelism means actively supporting something; evangelists are active supporters. That's it; there is no religious connotation to it, at least in technical circl...

I mean the meaning of "Evangelical". I haven´t seen this word in any technical paper yet. You could be religious but it is not necessary to include any spiritual word inside this forum. I like movies but I will never put a name as "Benhur discussion forum" in this site. I am not going to walk aroun...

I agree with Shubedo... This is a technical forum. Evangelical is out of place here. He is not talking about the turbines, but you have reacted as a fanatics against him. What are you on about? As far as this forum being 'evangelical' well duh this forum is about nuclear fusion. Go figure people he...

Re: Evangelical forums??!?!!?
What kind of question is that anyway? Your balloons wont power a global and capitalist world. Just live with it.Shubedobedubopbopbedo wrote:Isn't that just a little too obvious?
Nuclear on the other hand can and will.

The reasons nuclear power is the only viable alternative to petroleum/wind/solar is because it is highly efficient, cheap and yes clean!!! Every country can also produce it so you dont have to go into other volatile countries and looking in their soil for it. Ofcourse the drawbacks are the weapons t...

Re: 2 cents with a guess
The positive charge on the magrid will of course attract electrons. The virtual cathode in the centre will also repel electrons. It is the magnetic field from the magrid that prevents the electrons from ramming straight into the magrid. If the magnetic field is too weak compared to the charge on th...

Re: 2 cents with a guess
What happens when you combine 50Kev emitters shooting electrons.. with a MaGrid.... The MaGrid is positive to the wells' negative, and the MaGrid is operating at what level charge ? Once sufficient electron density occurs, the MaGrid and the well push back at one another, equilibrium occurs, the we...
