So, once the central virtual cathode is stabilised at a particular well depth, the well can be maintained at that depth just by ensuring that the electron losses are balanced by sufficient injected electron current? Does this square with the idea that the polywell system acts as a momentum transfor...

Nuclear power's new age
Here is a very interesting article that can be found in 'The Economist' http://www.economist.com/displaystory.cfm?story_id=9767699 Enjoy! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- A nuclear revival is welcome so long as the industry does not repeat its old mistakes...

Re: Confirmation yet?
As I said I believe it when I see it. And I aint seen it yet.JoeStrout wrote:Any idea when are we going to hear some official confirmation about this renewed Navy funding? From the original leak it sounded like an official announcement was imminent... but here it is weeks later, and nothing.
I had the impression POPS only worked in a Grid. Polywell is gridless. Remember? The plasma has a natural frequency. You can excite it by changing the well voltage slightly at the proper frequency. i.e. modulate the HV power supply. Or it may be possible to modulate the electron beams to excite the...
Thats 2kw continuously, about 24kwh per day usage, and yes your right that doesn't include heating/water, if ones home is well insulated, you don't need heating, and just stick with cold showers :-) Reading the above thread in the other URL, it might appear that $100,000 might be nearer the figure,...
In my single room I use about 2kw (which apparently is about 4 times what your average whole house is supposed to use..) so I'm assuming my new home would find 10kw enough to run everything. I was noticing in this thread talk about some projected costing figures; http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/fo...
Like all great experts, I shall pluck a figure out of thin air and suggest $20,000 US dollars for a 10kw model, component price only, not including assembling. Some idea on how much space it might all take up could be another concern, not all of us have endless basement space for such constructions...
I wonder what the material costs might be to construct one for personal electric generation use, perhaps a 10Kw model, or is there a particular bottom ceiling of output one can expect ? I'm just pondering whether it could be affordable for someone to develop the entire thing on a shoestring, or whe...

I think MSimon is correct on the policy front for one reason. Because Dr. Bussard himself have stated that if there is a conspiracy against IEC Polywell fusion it is comming from the Tokamak people and not the oil industry. So lets keep cool heads till the firsts tests are done and the engineering i...

MSimon I do not live in Israel anymore and I probably wont move back ever. But I know what you are talking about. Many Israelis have this 'I am better then all other jews' attitude. Predicting the future and timetables is impossible due to the fact that something can happen tomorrow that changes the...

rexxam62 We dont need to sit here and feel sorry for middle east or oil producing countries. If we find a disruptive technology for oil we should use it and puncture them. That is capitalism. Adapt or die. I find I'm in total agreement with this. Their problem is that they have a culture that is no...

If it creates chaos in their countries and they try to take it out on Israel just neutron bomb them. Ev...
