Re: FIA 2023 Report
Can anyone post a copy of the report here, or do we all need to download our individual copy from the FIA site?

Re: Apologies for the long down time
Hi Joe!
I've been checking daily to see if the site's been resurrected. Thanks so much for your efforts. I can't wait to get back to my daily lurking.

Re: EMC2 news
Interesting. In all my years of lurking on this site, I've never looked at the Wikipedia article. If I wanted to stay informed regarding fusion efforts (especially EMC2), I always visited, well . . . here! Thanks for the link below! added the patent info to wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P...

Re: New Polywell Article On HotGas
This (credentials) is an interesting discussion, but waaaaay OT. Can we get some discussion regarding the actual article? Or, is the "credential" discussion fundamental to understanding the article? If not, maybe start a new thread.

Re: PPPL Colloquium: The Lockheed Martin CFR, Aug 6, 2015
I emailed Carol Ann Austin, organizer of the colloquium to see if it would be streamed via the Princeton Media Central site. Her reply was:
"Hi. Yes, it will probably be streamed, as long as the speaker signs the PPPL waiver forms.
Thanks."

Re: Musk's Powerwall
Right. The link you have is for a 5.3 kW system. At 3.5 hours sun / day (Pacific NW), we have 18.55 kWh/day, or 6,770 kWh/year. This gets me to about 36% of my demand. (Or, about 51% of an "average" household demand - as you pointed out!). I still don't see any "extra" that needs to be captured by a...

Re: Musk's Powerwall
Well, if you take my roof (larger than most) getting packed out by about 416 ft2 of panels that produces about (generously) ~25% of my annual kWh consumption of 19,000 kWh, the system would be producing (again, generously) about 5,000 kWh annually. I think we came to consensus that average consumpti...

Re: Musk's Powerwall
Yes! Your comments really get to the heart of my thoughts about viability (now) of storage proposals. You're one observation ("if everybody bought solar panels that satisfied their daily power needs"), though, is problematic. I just don't know if there's enough roof real-estate on a single family ho...

Re: Musk's Powerwall
Northern Oregon is about same latitude as Michigan. "least useful" is probably an apt description, but ROI (especially with tax incentives at Fed and OR level) is still reasonable. I'm willing to admit I'm atypical. CNN Money (bastion of truth, I'm sure :-)) article says: "The average U.S. household...

Re: Musk's Powerwall
I'm willing to admit I'm atypical. CNN Money (bastion of truth, I'm sure :-)) article says: "The average U.S. household uses 943 kilowatt-hours of electricity in a month and pays 12¢ per kWh, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration". This equals 11,316 kWh annually. I have a fairly l...
