For instance, MIT might argue the point of the first electronic computer(s). http://alum.mit.edu/pages/sliceofmit/2009/08/12/project-whirlwind/ The incorporation of solid state components, video displays, RAM, etc is where I see the true foundation in real computers. Thank god for the Cold War, for...

I read it as: This is going to cost more and take longer. We are not going to ask another company to take over because that will entail even more time and money. We have done our due diligence to ensure that this project has a chance of delivering. We want this to deliver a product, so we should con...

In: http://www.polywellnuclearfusion.com/PolywellReactor/RealPolywell.html The next review panel meeting is said to be imminent: If all goes as planned, a review panel meeting in Sept or October of 2011, will likely give the go-ahead for p-B11 testing. Is it the case that there are now sufficient de...

I am trying not to get too excited. I think that far too much is being read into a very cautiously worded report. The progress reports now look like this: 2010-09-30 WB8 is fully under construction, progress made on Theoretical modeling of the Polywell. 2010-12-31 WB-8 device construction is complet...

Are you placing the peltier so that the hot side is not inside the vacuum? Yes, I was thinking of long thin thermocouple piles so that one end was in the coil and the other end poked out of the vacuum vessel and could then be cooled by, for example, a water flow. There could then be a hedgehog of l...

Just a suggestion
I'm not a physicist, so please ignore this if it is too naive:
why not shift the heat out of the coil using the Peltier effect?
I expect that the effect is too weak to move the amounts of heat produced in your coil though.

GWW57 Wow, right on target......do you play the market or lotteries (proceeds could go to emc2..) BTW, you are now being investigated for insider information..... b2f I used to do Predictify, but when I get out of my narrow fields of specialism, I'm hopeless at predicting things. http://www.predict...

I predicted: 16th December 2008 Reviews can take a long time, but I hope for results this year. I claim the prize! Alan Boyle says: http://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/12/16/1718741.aspx Nebel told me today. Although he couldn't go into the details, he said the verdict was positive. "There's...
