A few comments from my side after brievely flying over the article: 1. I want to see a working battery that I can buy before I believe it. 2. If it worked, it would certainly be exciting. 3. I did not see any information about the charging times. If the charging times are longer than the times of t...

Crazy idea, and tell me if it has been tried already. But ONR does have a "Contact us" page. Also with some digging there are a couple promising "points of contact" whose areas could be related to the BFR. http://www.onr.navy.mil/sci_tech/33/333/default.asp (naval power systems, platform/hull forms,...

Another way to gather funds would be to turn EMC2 semi-public. Leave Nebel and company with all the voting stock and just sell nonvoting stock. Or is that allowed? If it is I'd buy stock! I'd buy lots of it :) You could 'prolly get the Chinese to foot the bill. Though there is an extremely high risk...

Dear All, I strongly recommend that the BFR community avoid any political involvement at all. There are many who will lose if this works out. We should not underestimate what efforts they will take to stop it. Political intervention will at best be nonproductive and at worst be a show stopper due t...

The tone of the article, and the quotes from Dr Nebel, are about as positive as you can get under the circumstances. Boy, it's hard to keep the champaign corked! I think I'll wait until the results get published. But I have a bottle of excellent mead that's been aging for a couple years that I migh...

With the DD reaction (which I presume is being used in the WB-7), neutrons can be used to determine whether or not fusion is happening. Do we have any indication any neutron measurements were taken? I got the impression (from these boards) that The WB was the first hurdle and the one that was being...

All the public needs to see is a clear enough contrast between fusion or even tokamaks and polywell, for it to be undeniably not just a "nuke". Well, you could call it a Bussard Electro-Nuclear Hybrid Reactor... BENHR? It does have to have Bussard in the name. It would be nice if he had more to his...

Yes it's hard to imagine any current use for power that would be served by 1-10GW machines, that wouldn't be at least as well served by more, cheaper, 0.1-1GW machines. As for the practical limit: As long as it's well above the economic break even, who cares at this stage? I'm sure we'll find out i...
