I find debate useful, and learn a lot, and its quite common I learn things that I didn't know before and it changes my opinion about things. It can take a long time, but none the less I find it generally useful and without it I'd have a very blinkered view of the world limited to just my own experie...

My view is that the US is generally way ahead of the UK, so I'm rather with Skipjack's view on things, here in the UK we have a rather almost at times, third world country now.. > Britain is turning into one of the most terrifying places for privacy > and liberty that I can think of at the moment In...

> In fact we could solve the CO2 "problem" by planting trees I like trees, I like living near trees, walking under trees, and I generally push the idea of tree planting around new homes, but for some reason, virtually every green I stumble across is very anti-tree.. I'm really confused how anyone ca...

I do worry t...

I once lived in a very poor neighbourhood and had lots of security lighting, various comments from the criminal element in the area said that it would make their job easier to break in or mug people because they could see better.. Now I live in a slightly less poor neighbourhood and I used to have s...
The Moller vehicle is taking its time in development I grant you that, but at least we have seen prototypes hovering about in the air

Its certainly an area which interests me and I can see that little nanite robots could be used to repair us. The other option is to replace the brain with something a little more robust and allow the mind to be housed in a plug in unit that you can fit into any body you want. Thats the route I inten...

> Supply and demand determine salaries I'm not so sure of this.. What I've seen is that people getting paid a lot for their jobs, its not because they are really good, but because they lie well, or in the case of local government, a case of my friend scratches my back, I'll scratch yours.. So we'd r...

> effort over time devolves to the minimums I would agree with that assertion, but.. Whats wrong with people doing just that ? With plenty of unemployed, and lots of people doing jobs which aren't actually useful, if we just did the important stuff instead, wouldn't that be enough ? Ok, so the rate ...

> I think most Greenpeace types (>>98%) would welcome it Agreed. The problem is, the 2% that disagree are the most vocal, make the most noise and everyone thinks they speak for the majority. I tend to listen to the majority view and go out of my way to put their voices forward when others do not, it...

I see no reasons yet why a capitalist cooperative business model where the workers own shares in the business and directly benefit from their increased productively and are not having the wealth siphoned off by the boss, sh...
