Re: Mach Effect progress
Sometime I thing we are taking the wrong approach with these things. :) Maybe we should cover it with bright flashing LEDs, shiny bells and have it spat co2 or steam at random intervals from various orifices and keep it in a big blue box then maybe we will get millions in funding The right approach...

Re: Mach Effect progress
My understanding is that Elon Musk wants to invest in refining existing known good hardware that meets his personal goals, such as taking rockets and making them reusable. If someone developed and built a working, usable thruster - as opposed to a research build that only really good on a test stan...

Re: Mach Effect progress
Here the pricing: http://spaceflight.com/schedule-pricing/#pricing The MEGA prototype appears pretty small, so a CubeSat could hold a few of them. Add some retractable solar panels to power them. It should be doable inside a 10x10x30 cm volume for 300k$ My concern is, with 300K they could be able to...

Re: LENR Is Real
People see what people want to see: someone will see proof, someone will see flashing lights. IIRC, from 2011 we have many PhD with tenure and a life time of experience looking at Rossi work and stating their support; Prof Levi from University of Bologna Prof Sven Kullander from University of Uppsal...

Re: Mach Effect progress
My suggestion would be to create some prize to be awarded to anyone able to build and show any device with such features. Alternatively, a series of prizes would be created to get people getting one or more intermediate steps believed to be useful to get to a fully functional device. E.G. A self-ann...

Re: Mach Effect progress
I support skipjack. The triangle is misleading because "good" is a subjective measure so it is different for different people. And the risk is also subjective because you must evaluate the risk of doing with the risk of not doing. It is never zero. If you use shadowstats data, you can see, for the c...

In you innovate faster than others, you run into problems faster than them.
It is like approaching the speed of light.

Re: Mach Effect progress
Such a shame, with the cheap technology we should be able and willing to record everything and make them available.AcesHigh wrote:I don´t think the technical paper panels were filmed. The convention was pretty big, but only talks in the main auditorium seem to have been filmed.

Re: Bitcoin
The way bitcoin is distributed it would be near impossible to shut down. Exchanges between bitcoin and other currencies, on the other hand, are an easier target. Only large exchanges can be shut down easily. But try to shut down localbitcoins.com and local street exchangers. No more difficult than ...

Re: Mach Effect progress
In this thread on NBF I tried to reply to some, IMO, silly arguments against the concept of a Mach Effect Thruster and I would like to have some comments about them (if they could be right or not): Feel free to move it to a different thread if you think it inappropriate for this. http://nextbigfutur...

From my prospective, what is need here is a Venture Capitalist or some Rossi-type entrepreneur taking up the research and running for commercial application with the current technology. Prof. Woodward and March (and the others involved) are too academically oriented. But as good as they are (and the...
