Re: Small Tri Alpha news blurp
Interesting formation technique. That will certainly help making their machines smaller and cheaper to build. What is notable to me mostly how low the temperatures they are operating at still are today. This makes it possible for them to omit the two big drums at each end of the machine. Correctly ...

Fresh nature article: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-025-58849-5 We report evidence of successful generation of field-reversed configuration plasmas by neutral beam injection. These results establish a field-reversed configuration formation method which may offer technological and economic a...

Article: A Quasi-Spherical Fusion Reactor Burning Boron-11 Fuel
Simulations only and no peer review: "our proposed MET6 reactor uses the principles of Magneto-Electrostatic Trap design of Yushmanov (1980) to improve the classic Polywell design, resulting in a predicted power-balance Q ≈ 1.3." https://assets-eu.researchsquare.com/files/rs-4993024/v1/c03cfa19-0eaa...

Re: Europe lost and the division of the world begins
I thought you were american... Generally, I think it is a fairly solid statement that the acceptance of a russian overtake shows an inverse relationship to actual experience of russian rule. With a few notable exceptions. I agree the russians are active in the opinion formation arena with some notab...

Re: Europe lost and the division of the world begins
With Europe falling to Russia, what is happening now, is a consolidation of spheres of influence between the US, Russia and China (which was still relatively weak back in 1999) and a struggle for control of the rest of the world. What possible justification can there be for that claim? I am a europ...

Re: Europe lost and the division of the world begins
The very thought of Russia dominating Europe is ridiculous. Russia have problems keeping their land from rottening from within. Not counting their energy exports their foreign trade is smaller than Swedens and their country is largely looking like more like Upper Volta and the Central African Republ...

Re: Helion Energy to demonstrate net electricity production by 2024
Hossenfelder did not even bother to read their recent paper. Helion did publish results for Trenta. I see what you did there. We don't know if she read their recent paper, but that is moot because it had no experimental results. What you meant to say is that Sabine did not attend the American physi...

Re: Helion Energy to demonstrate net electricity production by 2024
another helion video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxuPkDOuiM4 Yes, Sabine Hossenfelder. Disappointingly, she starts with the same tired argument, namely that Helion made some predictions early on that didn't pan out, therefore anything they say is suspect. This when Helion stated that it would o...

Re: Jäderberg future power - Swedish fusion startup
There has been some coverage of this project in national swedish media recently. Some details have been presented in a radio interview. It is in swedish so there is no use posting a link. Anyway: They aim for a variety of sizes with the smaller ones using HTS magnets and D-T fuel cycle. The largest ...

Re: Avalanche Energy
To achieve Fusion one of the things that you need is an electric potential (a pressure) to accelerate the ions at a speed high enough to facilitate the fusion process. [.......good text......] that is limiting the useful potential to 15/20Kv for most applications. [.......good text......] am so exc...

Re: Avalanche Energy
Unfortunately, I am unable to grasp what a feedthrough to vacuum is, what it does and why it is a good thing to have. And particulary why this construction achieves such splendid performance on that key metric.
