Don't Let This Happen To You
I was stupid. I was working in and another forum and got hit with a dialog box that I couldn't close asking for permission to change the hard drive. I thought it was the typical adware. It was worse, much worse. It was ransomware. https://theartsmechanical.wordpress.com/2016/06/08/being-held-for-ran...

How Muc Do Regulations Cost?
I walked into the kitchen and MSNBC was on with Al Sharpton lambasting Republicans for talking about light bulb and ceiling fan regulations. Just how lazy is recruiting?
What we have here is a cutoff of communication. https://theartsmechanical.wordpress.com/2016/01/06/is-recruiting-the-laziest-part-of-a-company/ Just how lazy is recruiting that they can't spend 18 minute or so per position reviewing resumes and passing them on to the people who actually have the nee...

Re: It looks Like Layoff Season Is Starting
It's not just Obama, or just the Democrats. It's the whole government/corporate system that's become dysfunctional. Somehow, in arranging things for their own comfort far too many people have forgotten that there's a reason for doing what they do, that where they work isn't just a bureaucracy functi...

Re: A Makers and Engineering Bookshelf
I would suggest an update for your manufacturing processes book. 40 years old is useless. You need to be looking at recent technology since that is where all the innovation is happening. Relying upon a 40 year old book will actually hurt you in this. You want access to things like molecular diffusi...

Why do You Need That Information?
Why do companies need your information when you apply for a job? As the process gets more invasive we job seekers need to start asking that question. And get answers. https://theartsmechanical.wordpress.com/2015/03/11/why-do-you-need-that-information/ More: There's an enormous amount of frustration ...

Google on the other hand has definite signs of corporate sclerosis. https://theartsmechanical.wordpress.com/2015/02/27/why-cant-companies-learn-how-to-make-innovation-pay/ The thing is that once you live thr...
