EUROfusion (a consortium of European national fusion laboratories) invited science journalist Dan Clery to write an article for the December issue of their newsletter. He chose to write about private fusion efforts, and whether fusion research in general could benefit from a synergy between mainstream and alternative approaches.
Temperature, density, confinement time: pick any two.
This is the best article I have read on this subject in a long time. You can tell Dan is careful about this. But, he has a big voice in the UK science community.
