As I said, 30th this year is a Sunday... Seems unlikely to me that any government drone would work on a Sunday.

It may be automated. I'll be checking significantly throughout tomorrow.

Does automated government work on a sunday?
Wow, the US is quite advanced compared to us Austrians!
;)
Either way, I will be happy to see the report whenever it arrives ;)

I am not holding my breath. I remain focused about the little "check mark" previously noted.
Anyone want to make a bet? :)

Quarterly Activities/Project Description As of 3Q/2011, the WB-8 device has generated over 500 high power plasma shots. EMC2 is conducting tests on Wiffle-Ball plasma scaling law on plasma heating and confinement.

I truly did not expect a report. This is nice. A little light ;) in details but...

Hmmm.
Well it surprises me that they filed. And also that they changed the "little check mark" to "No".
They also seem to have given about $170K back to the government. The total funds received actually went down, $3,382,826 to $3,216,826.
In any event, I am happy that they filed something, I truly did not expect it.
500 high power shots, scaling being tested. Yeah! A durable machine.

Now for test runs completion and the 8.1 decision (grin with hand rubbing).

Oh, and Park got a raise! Small, but up... Not that it really means anything.

Interesting. I always hope for more information than I get, but at least the machine is able to hold up.

It is interesting that they are still very secretive about actual neutron counts, but not about generic "scaling".

Surely recovery money should go towards actual numbers being published? But perhaps at the end of the 8.0 or 8.1....

It says "testing scaling law on plasma heating and confinement." We already have the previous statement about excellent confinement. This last statement could imply they're getting a hot plasma and have to determine how the heat affects containment with scaling. Since they're running D-D fusion, that could also imply heavy neutron impingement on the magnets. I'm really trying to read through the tea leaves here, few as they are.

That's an unexpected and good news.
I was 100% convinced not to see any report this quarter.

Maybe Alan Boyle can get another interview with Dr. Park?
