There are two possible outcomes of this:

Government sets prices too high and more producers enter the market and some consumers leave.

Or government sets prices too low and some producers leave the market and some consumers enter the market who would otherwise be priced out.

The net result of government efforts is supply/demand imbalances.

There is a third possible outcome: government gets the prices just right and continually adjusts them according to local and general market conditions. What are the odds of that?

I love the double think. Price controls isn't price fixing, but refusing to work is price fixing.

Doctors are apparently slaves to society. Break out the whips and force those bastards to work!

Society has been doing it to all technical folk for millenia. They used to lame blacksmiths to keep them from leaving town. The lawyers/politicians want to own you and they will do whatever they need to to make it happen.

This is PERFECT, now we can apply this ruling to all the labor unions and shut them all down for price fixing.
