When

Post by bcokeley »

Dear Internet,

Does anyone have an idea of when any news about the past or future success of the polywell science would come out? Something like a peer review paper?

I'm not a scientist. I became interested after seeing Dr. B on his Google video. There seems to have been money spent since then, but no real conclusions on the science.

Everyone is interested in the answer to this question. This particular issue has been beaten to death over in the News Section. If you want to be caught up to speed, I would suggest that the News section is your best bet.

I did read through the news section. Most of the threads drift into other topics. I got the general idea that nobody really knows when, if ever, the news (public news) will come out about the success or failure of the science. It looks like it has become a private research project that continues indefinitely with the funding of the Navy.

While I'm hopeful for their success, I'm disappointed that I may never know about it.

I assure you that if it works, you will know about it. Everyone will know about it. Maybe not right away, but eventually. :)

You'll know about it if it's successful... when the Navy starts buildings a fusion-powered aircraft carrier - or even a new generation battleship with rail guns

Rail gun? Some sort of directed energy weapon? I suspect that might be even more secret than the current polywell science project. Same goes for a new energy source on an aircraft carrier or any other military use.
