Jerry cheated death a few years back when brain cancer tried to kill him. I corresponded with him a couple of weeks ago, and apparently he attended DragonCon last weekend.
He will be missed, but he will not be forgotten anytime soon.

Yes depressing news. They're all just about gone now Heinlein, Asimov, Clarke, and now Pournelle. I actually was thinking lately maybe he could if he had President Trump's ear somehow might be the person to persuade him to revive/ramp up SDI. Still remember the Delta Clipper that started I believe with SSX; conceived by Graham's group that Pournelle was strongly affiliated with. Vertical take-off/landing many years before Musk's Space X.
