There is also the small matter of putting continuously emitting devices on tactical operators. We might want to think about the wisdom of that. OTOH, a continuously recording device might be useful for training, after action reports and Monday morning quarterbacking. Oh, never mind.

Its been done. It is just not fully tactical [yet].
And yes, in this case it does provided benefits to do it. One of which is on the fly forensics, as well as feedback for adaptive modeling and forensic systems.
You tie the ground bit with the air bit with the <other> bits and you get some pretty cool predictive and forensic stuff.
