New Post is Up: "The Public Plea"!

Check it out...

http://thepolywellblog.blogspot.com/201 ... -plea.html

Blog is at 29,856 Page Views... ~60 hits a day!!!

Post Summary:
==========
This post is a hodgepodge of ideas. First, is an attempt to write a “mission statement” for the community based on a survey of 409 posts on the talk-polywell implications thread. Quotes are included. Next, is a discussion of Bill Flints’ Polywell site and some highlights from the 2012 IEC conference. The fusor and the machine mechanism are both brief referenced. Machine scale up is discussed, using reaction cross sections and the volumetric fusion equation. Because of the Lawson criteria, efforts to raise machines’ efficiency as opposed to plasma density or heat, should be pursued. Efficiency may be raised by x-ray reflection, increasing electron and ion recirculation, reducing energy input, and using direct conversion to capture energy. Occam's razor is used to argue for this machine, as it currently makes fewer assumptions then other ideas. Lastly, a call for a MCNP simulation and dimensional analysis of the Polywell using eight dimensionless ratios, is made. The hope is that modes of operation, or a resonance condition, may be found.

Looks like it's not well researched. First line at the top leads one to believe the Poly has only been funded for 3 years. That is wrong by more than two decades. The Poly was first funded in 1987 and the Navy first stepped in in 1992. Whoever wrote that funding started in 2009 needs to go back and start checking their facts.

I can't more than glance at the rest as it seems too unreliable a source to me. And to be honest, the whole notion to create a blog about a blog sounds pretty whacky and counterproductive. I have to wonder why this person would ever so waste his time when people are obviously better served to simply read at T-P.

GIThurster,

Actually the idea was first suggested in the 1960's. With work done by O. A. Lavrent’ev. Check out these papers:

The Navy got 10 million in 2009 (As stated in the blog).

You're not paying attention.

The Poly first received funding in 1987 and received its first US Navy funding in 1992. If the writer of this blog knew this and decided only to note the 2009 funding, he is a liar who should not be involved with the Poly for any reasons. If he did not know this and decided to create a blog, he is too stupid to be blogging. Anyone can go on wiki and get a straight scoop. This is disinformation.

Let’s compromise and be diplomatic about this.

I do not want to fight with you.

Criticism is a part of good work. If you have technical criticism, say it, and it can be added.

We are much more effective working together.
