If we could even do D-D fusion it would be a boon.

The radiation problems are tractable (about 20X fission) which means about 8" more concrete. And small amounts of long lived radionuclides.

There are millions of years of D-D in the oceans. Enough so that we could figure out what to do next.

Simon, could you clarify?

"want to see this go" meaning "want to see this fail (go away)", or "want to see this work so they can invest & make $$$?"

Want to see the experiments show promise so they can pour $$ into the project.
