Super-filament formation of a relativistic Gaussian electron beam in a dense collisional plasma
In this paper, we investigate the energy transport of a finite beam—with Gaussian profile
in both transverse and axial directions—in a strongly collisional background plasma by full
three-dimensional particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations. A parametric study of the beam energy
flux on various factors such as the plasma to beam density ratio and the collision frequency is
performed.
