Operating conditions

Post by ryip »

A list of ballpark operating conditions may be helpful in figuring out what sort of components to use. I'm sure we all have some ideas of what sorts of hazards there are, but it would be nice to put some numbers to them, or at least relations to some variables (eg. radius, desired potential well).

Temperature range: ?
Neutron flux: ?
Alpha-particle flux: ?
Startup power and current requirements: ?
Startup torque on electromagnets: ?
E-gun power: ?
Other contraints on materials we can use, such as coolant not being a dipole such as water?

The more facets we can imagine and relate to other variables, the clearer the engineering challenges we face.

Been there done that, wheres M. Simon, he knows where the reactor plans are kept..

YO dude, wherez the top secret plans for the WB7x ?
I like the p-B11 resonance peak at 50 KV acceleration. In2 years we'll know.
