Maybe the Navy project has gone black, in which case no news is good news in terms of progress, but bad news in terms of finding out whats happening.

emc2fusion.com is still showing "Directory Listing Denied", so there is no index page. We'd get a different error from IIS if the page was there but we didn't have permission to view it (either HTTP 401 or 403). We'd get yet another error if the site wasn't responding at all.
I get the 403 error when I try.
The website declined to show this webpage
HTTP 403

You using IE? The "Directory Listing Denied" message is an HTTP 403.14 error, so it could be the "simple error messages" option (or is it "friendly" errors?) is enabled in your browser.

Either way, its odd that the server is up, but effectively denying the public access to the pages. Since the site didn't really consist of more than an index page before, I'm inclined to think the file was renamed or removed. Hopefully it is because a "better" page is being created.

Yes, I am using IE and am set for Show Friendly.

Account probably lapsed

Post by ogiw »

My experience has been that you see this when the site's Web provider or ISP has shut off the account. It may have lapsed due to a variety of reasons. If possible, you can use archive.org's wayback machine to look at the site the last time it worked to seek contact info.

Indeed. Down to the email address (rick@) which presumably isn't being read....

I'm still seeing "directory listing denied" for emc2fusion.com. emc2fusion.org, however, has been working the entire time (to include the bad email ;) ) as far as I'm aware.

I'm guessing this was the reason. Security CYA by GoDaddy.

It having been down for an offline, mega-hit, server stress test would have been nice, though...

[edit] http://www.emc2fusion.org/ is working for me, but http://www.emc2fusion.com/ is giving "Directory Listing Denied", which means the index page is missing (or mis-named).
.org is still up and unchanged, but .com is now giving
"This site is temporarily unavailable."

Maybe some of you IT guys can hack in and see what's going on?
(It's a shame that we have to resort to such methods...)

I don't recall .com ever being available.

No, but it has gone from "Directory Listing Denied" to "This site is temporarily unavailable", so something has changed. Scraps, I know.

Yes, but, in an effort to conserve/recycle electrons and magnetic memory domains, thereby reducing carbon footprint, I cleverly and deftly skewed the thread trajectory to point out a minor, but possibly deeply significant, change in the status of cousin site emc2fusion.com.

A reliable hacker recon report is needed.
