NRC Approves New Nuclear Reactor Design

Post by Enginerd »

The U.S. NRC commission has made an exception to its long standing policy of charging a great deal of money while doing nothing whatsoever...
with the approval today of the Westinghouse AP1000 reactor for use in the USA....

Seems to be behind a pay wall...
Let me guess, it is a new PWR, or LWR design?
Anything else would be a first since its existance.

NRC == no reactor certified (other than PWRs).

Haha,

Hey at least it's a start. Maybe in ten or twenty years, when the current bureaucrats who run it are dead or retired, we might get another new design certified.

Hmm, possibility to organize an underground movement with the purpose of assassinating the current bureaucracy and replacing them with sympathetic members to the cause?

Or am I over thinking things again. :D

I think I'd prefer that we regulate our own board than have the jack-booted thugs do it!
