Interesting, I wonder if this effect could be used by General Fusion.

I wonder if something like this could simulate plasma flows in magnetic fields that would be easier to measure than tenuous plasmas.

An analog computer!

Data acquisition through liquid metal might be a problem though.

If the density range is adequate for similitude and x-ray discrimination... near-incompressibility of the liquid metal is probably a showstopper.
