Efficiency only matters if your fuel is expensive, limited in supply, or both, no? Image that everybody in town has a Mr Fusion in their kitchen that is 5% efficient converting thermal to electrical, and each Mr Fusion is generating 100 kW thermal to power each home... Now, scale that up to several...

If this works- It will mean commercial development, licensing, and big money, and who best to benefit than those doing all the hard work. If it works, It will mean commercial development, licensing, and big money in the short term. Longer term, the genie will be out of the bottle. Patents will even...

The neutron output (if that is the critical measure) should be profuse enough that statistically significant results, should be much easier to acquire. If this thing is (as we hope) spitting out neutrons by the truckload, I wonder if they have installed something like a big lead and plastic lined w...

Progress. In what sense exactly? They had plasma 15 years ago also. True. However this is first plasma for the shiny new WB-8. We now know they have built the thing and the shiny new WB-8 made some plasma without blowing up. Presumably, like its forerunners, it is producing some nuclear fusion. Wit...

Re: Gamma rays...

Uh, if gammas were adequately blocked by such a device, it would be very, very handy in other applications, such as medical gamma cameras, spacecraft, 'hot' isotope handling etc etc... Not only that, if this device is indeed perfect at blocking gammas, it means it is perfect at absorption of gammas...

Here is the Windom-Larson rebuttal attempting to prove that nuclear gamma radiation is absorbed by heavy (fast moving unbound) electrons on metallic hydride surfaces. So the complete lack of observable gamma radiation in fact proves that an unusual type of low energy nuclear fusion is in fact occur...

Did the Wright brothers produce beautifully edited papers for peer review rejection by esteemed scientists of the day or did they build aeroplanes? The Wright brothers took their machine out and demonstrated it in a way that was public, repeatable, and irrefutable. "Opportunity is missed by most pe...

The experimenter starts out with just pure carbon and water and by electric arching, creates in this easily reproducible experiment over 20 elements up to and including lead. In a short time iron can be remove from the initially pure water by using a magnet. This transmutation just amassed me. I di...

Besides copper, Rossi is not telling us what other constituent elements are found in the “ash’ of the device reaction. If you know what that ash element makeup is, then the identity of the catalyst(s) is easily deduced. If you find silver, then you know the catalyst is Palladium, if you find gold, ...

Folks, I can't really be absolutely positive, but it seems unlikely to me that the way a man parts his hair or leans on another man has an physical relationship to how such a mechanism may or may not work. Agreed. Yet I still think their fashion sense is relevant -- to the extent that we have pictu...

When these alpha and beta emitters are inside the body, they have greatly increase radiological effects on organ systems; up to 20 times more than gammas. In the case of tritium, it can be incorporated into the body where its remains and irradiates for an extended period. Exposure to this sort of r...

Yet to calculate net output energy, you need to also account for energy input into the system (which seems like it ought to be a lot for Ni62), and lost output energy (gamma rays or whatever).

NBF has a pic of the test article and a link to an article from italian media. I'm mirroring the pic here cause I expect NBF will downsize it (never seen him host anything but small/small-medium pics on his website). Well that picture answers my question as to how large the thing is -- seems to be ...
