Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)

no one seems to have the kind of solid theoretical grasp needed for effective mass production. Or it just doesn't do what he claims. Probably not. But one could say the same of most claims for most new technologies. But it's one thing to say e-CAT's not going to live up Rossi's claims that it will ...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)

I thought it was interesting that NRL claimed the other day to have a process to produce jet fuel from seawater for $3-$6, for which they were not immediately condemned by all right-thinking people. I wonder how Industrial Heat is faring with Rossi's design? I suspect not well, no one seems to have...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)

Thanks Axil. I mention a few of them in the last chapter. I mention Defkalion which I have an enormous difficulty to assess all the time. I still have strong doubts about Defkalion, but they have been the one that have seemed to have something close to Rossi that I knew of. But I would not say that ...

Re: Recovery.Gov Project Tracker

Did we ever figure out if they're trying p-B11 yet? That was the WB-8.1 goal iirc.

Re: Recovery.Gov Project Tracker

Why not do the pump the water up the mountain, and let it drain thing using wind (or other low load/low efficency when underloaded capacity at that moment) as the source? The losses and costs at every step would very likely make that uneconomic even in a best-case scenario. This is partly because i...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)

Thanks for sharing Axil. I wonder how Rossi's longer-running machines are doing? I suspect Rossi still doesn't have a strong understanding of the effect he's trying to commercialize. McKubre's take is probably correct and would be typical for efforts of this kind. The effect may not even be commerci...

Re: Convergent Scientific videos are up.

Steady state just means the device is cooled and doesn't operate in pulse mode. It has no implications for the physics (at least in theory) because the time scales are much smaller than the pulses. The drive current is what keeps the machine at the quasi-neutral limit. In that respect it's pretty ty...

Italian company to sell portable cold fusion plant deliverable next year The portable plants are expected to be ready for delivery in approximately four months, which should end the mystery. If Rossi has succeeded where so many others have failed, he and his colleagues will be cheered and likely aw...

Ha! 1.6T is nothing, FF claims to create 100,000T magnetic fields.

Re: Recovery.Gov Project Tracker

Teemu -- I don't remember the exact numbers for Lerner, but of course PW was unfunded for a year or two (when Bussard did the tech talk and we were writing Congresscritters). One of the things that held my interest in PWs was that Rick (in particular) was always on the level about the prospects; the...

Re: Convergent Scientific Incorporated news

Thanks for attending mvan! Great to hear Joel Rogers is helping, his PW simulations were the best I've seen, and those sizes sound like they came from him as well. A no-nub continuously-cooled design is very interesting even at that size. The fusion rate is key though, I wonder if they are having tr...

Re: 10KW LENR demonstrator (new thread)

Thanks parallel.

Like I keep telling everyone in hot fusion, it's possible nothing commercializable will emerge from this anytime soon, if ever. OTOH, it's increasingly hard to believe all of this CF is attributable to fraud or measurement error.

Apparently we're never going to stop explaining that.
