The FOIA coordinator handling my case at NAVAIR is out sick today.
We will have to wait until tomorrow (Tuesday) for an update from them.

Hopefully I will get an update on fees waiver from ONR later today.

Cheers!

I think we will get something from the FOIA. Nothing in what they have said to me yet says that they will not release anything. In fact quite the contrary, it has been soley based around whether or not I would pay something, and if so how much. To be fair, that does not mean that they will not "kill...

You guys are great! I have gone back on both sides ONR and NAVAIR and pleaded for full waiver of fees, and if not the 2hours/100pages gig. ONR got back to me yesterday, and said they are re-considering. NAVAIR will not be in the office until Monday. Let us see how this plays, but it is nice to know ...

Another update: I received a letter from ONR, they acknowledged reciept of my FOIA, and then said I do not get any fee break, and want $176 ($44/hr for 4 hours) for research money to go forward to cover efforts to find the information requested. One would think it(the research) would be a simple ema...

I still have my ZX80 (In loft in box in garage). I wonder if they are a collectors item now? Don't know why I kept it all these years.

OK, I have sent in the prioritization for the Peer Review under the 2 hours/100 pages deal. I have also provided additional information for a full waiver of fees to go beyond the 2/100 deal. For Kiteman - let's see if they will budge on the fee waiver before we commit money. I am all about free stuf...

Did anyone keep a breakdown of what each contract was? I tried looking last night but got no luck. I have also been thinking Peer Review (which I am not sure if NAVAIR has, or ONR - still nothing from them), and/or maybe a specific targeted contract number for Executive Summary type package...thus t...

Progress

NAVAIR Weapons Division works fast apparently. Got a letter, saying they recevied my request 26Jan10. It has been assigned reference number NAWCWD20100021. (Apparently I am one the early bird list this year by the number!) They say the records search will only encompass records in exsitance by 26Jan...

Here they do the work, then tell you if and how much you need to pay to get what you want.

Even before Papa Doc came to power, damage from Hurricane Hazel in 1954, and stepped up logging for charcoal production, started a downward slide in the forests of the island. The process has continued to the present, driven by a demand for charcoal for cooking. I have seen estimates that about 98%...

Chris, You don't have to pay the fee. They will cover the first two hours of research, and the first 100 pages. After that they bill you on reproduction costs. In this case I requested electronic, which means little to no cost. We shall see. Maybe I will start a donation fund if it gets silly. But b...

Polywell FOIA

Sorry I have been quiet of late, this whole Haiti thing has kept me fairly busy. In light of the news derth (expected) I thought I might stir the pot here, as well as provide a glimmer of hope for loyalists of all kilts. So, I submitted a FOIA as previously discussed on 7Jan10. I thought you all mig...
