I like your attitude. It will assist in a Republican sweep of the 2010 elections. Keep up the good work. I hope the Republicans will really sweep the US. In fact, I hoped that Obama wouldnt be elected. Without his fiscal measures and Keynesian economics (which are only needed DURING the times of re...

If you think this is equal to Batista and Massadegh, then you have a defect in your perception of what constitutes a serious threat. From what *I* have read, virtually every Disaster in American History was the subsequent consequence of a Democrat President. ( The Civil War being the only exception...

About 130,000,000 Mt.
Hmm, I get about 955 Mt. for 99% c I do get around 120,000,000 Mt, but for 0.99% c I get 955 Mt.
my mistake... I meant 0.99c or 99,99%c

gee, thats quite the pleasure ruiner...

I wonder about the warp drive... (alcubierre)... the ship isnt trully moving... so what would happen with space dust, planets, etc? Would the distortion of the space-time avoid such objects?

Well, the question is whether they would be sooo common, after all they would probably be pulverized by even the smallest piece of spacedust long before they come even close to the earth. with good (and big) electromagnetic shields, I think you can avoid the ship being destructed by space dust. aga...

I see lots of angry republicans blaming everything on democrats here... quite funny... for example, they blame Kennedy on the Bay of Pigs affair, but forget that the Cuban Revolution only happened because of US support and backing to Fulgencio Batista, specially dureing Eisenhower´s term. Also, it w...

lets not forget that fuel for electricity generation FOR PROPULSION is just a small part of what is needed... travelling at such high speeds, I would guess that we would need another fusion reactor only to create very large electromagnetic shields, very distant from the ship, to prevent collision wi...

Im quite scared of ships travelling at lightspeed... specially if they have the potential (with this technology) to be so common. I mean... think of a 9/11, but with a terrorist hitting Earth with a 1000 tons spaceship, at 0.99999% c. Can anyone calculate the power of such impact? Security would be ...

Paul Allen IS bombarded with ideas. He has this firm called 'Vulcan'... he has a firm called VULCAN?? Is he a trekkie??? If so... you know... mention BUSSARD and you will get his attention! "In the Star Trek fictional universe vessels commonly have magnetic hydrogen collectors, referred to as Bussa...
