As far as I can tell, the best way to test scaling would be to build a bigger machine. I saw a picture of a huge vacuum chamber at NASA on talk-polywell last year. Maybe the magrid made out of MRI magnets could be run inside it on the cheap. Probably WB8/8.1 means 8 sided magrid. Another thing is, W...

It's always possible some different research project by another lab will indirectly provide confirmation, or they just need to do a few more definitive tests.

I'm glad to see there's a time line, and Emc2 has control over the project, not the DOE.

Could the output of WB 7.1 be increased using fuel pellets instead of gas? I've heard of compressed metallic hydrogen, could DT be formed into tiny packets the same way? The reason I bring this up is because from the looks of things EMC2 will probably be looking at $2 million annual budgets for the ...

Maybe the US Navy has a secret Mahatten type polywell program going on and the whole shovel ready $2 million is a front to maintain a 4 year head start.

I once asked an agronomist what he thought of organic food, because he was always consulting for would be organic farmers. He told me that he told them it was the best thing for the soil and the healthiest food people could be eating, but unfortunately they were 20 years and 2 billion people too lat...

Would it do any good to use a multichamber approach, large outer chamber to take the vacuum down to _7, with filter pump inside for inner chamber, magrid in the center.

I was worried that the coils would just about have to be made out of unobtainium, before RNebel explained the fusion product left through the cusps after gyrating inside the magrid. If the vacuum system was the only major obstacle left, it should also mean the design is just about there for space re...

Enemy particle beams could be reflected half way round the globe off enemy satellites and take out the good guys particle beam guns, or people, or missles before they launch, etc. I know this is all in the future, but once you start down the path with defensive weapons eventually they become powerfu...

Thanks for the correction. Still, I hold they would be a lot farther ahead if they had the big budget in the first place.

I'm beginning to wonder if the polywell is like a $250 million elephant in the room for the decision makers. If they commit the big bucks and it doesn't work they get blamed, so they keep funding at a low level year after year. But it adds up just to big bucks over time, about $50 million over the l...
