Re: EM Drive

A tweet from IVO Ltd's CEO: Barry-1 is continuing to progress through LEOP at this time and we appreciate the hard work and great progress @RogueSpaceCorp is making. Quantum Drive #QI testing has been postponed until January. Also: Some say that our Quantum Drives are just to scam some VCs (no VCs a...

Re: EM Drive

How much would they need just to maintain orbit? Taken from one of Mike McCulloch's tweets:

If it starts maintaining average altitude or rising, that's a pretty strong indication.

Re: Age of Miracles by Packy McCormick on fusion

They call Commonwealth Fusion Systems "the 800-pound gorilla in fusion". "It's a giant". "It's the safest bet".

Can't locate the reference, but I remember the CEO stating that they wouldn't announce any results for two to six months after launch.

From Twitter: First FRC in our Polaris Formation test! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GACW9TVbYAAiOU3?format=jpg&name=small What an awesome photo of our deuterium plasma injector testing! This is the first at this scale of FRC to be made by fully semiconductor switching – think billions of pulses (deca...

Re: Helion Energy to demonstrate net electricity production by 2024

Having worked in heavy industry, I've seen things much bigger than 3m transported by road. Let's consider too, the current Helion facility won't be the only production facility, if for no other reason than there's a much larger manufacturing base on the other side of the Rockies from them, with far...

Re: EM Drive

A little weird, I do not see the need to collect a "baseline of orbital data" if you have 45mN of thrust with a single W of consumption as claimed. They could simply switch them on and check if the orbit rises or not over one or more days. That is unless there is more fundamental operational detail...

From Twitter: Testing continues! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F9dUWuybsAAOk_O?format=jpg&name=small Yeah! Working through shakedown tests always leads to a few fun challenges. Early we had some issues with control system data readback, but now we are back up and running, getting to full magnetic fiel...
