Tombo there is a graph for Cu resistivity vs temperature from 0 to 900K here:

http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2004/BridgetRitter.shtml

Scroll down and click on the graph to see the table of values.

Your are right drmike, it would be a conical frustum. I think that without a graphic is a bit difficult to visualize. I'm going to try to describe it. 1.Lets start with a cube of side 2R (its center is where the fusion core would go). 2.Now, select one of the faces of the cube. Draw a cone, apex in ...

Another possible shape for the coils

If anyone have already suggested this I haven't seen it, if so my excuses in advance. The shape I propose is a truncated cone, its projected apex in the geometrical center of the device. The section of one coil would be rectangular and also its shield, but this with the corners rounded to prevent sh...

Thinking it twice, instead of using a decelerator grid and a collector grid, just one grid at a potential a bit under each energy peak in the distribution would be enough. If the spread on the spectrum energies is to high, like Simon suggested, two or more, separated lets say 25 kV, would catch them...

@tonybarry: Thank you. I undertand the necessity for some level of secrecy about all this, and that's why I'm not going to ask Dr. Nebel, but I think it is fair to share what we, outside the EMC2 team, already know and maybe extrapolate a bit from it. @Tom: Do you remember the specs of the old caps ...

You are right Simon, I forgot to account for the charge of the alphas. Thanks. About the spread of energies a theoretical analysis, or even better an experimental determination would be in order, although I'd be surprised if the spectrum didn't show a strong anisotropy favoring those two values. Any...

Using a simple deccelerating E-field outside the magrid might have one drawback, it would atract the electrons and impair their recirculation. That would reduced confinement. I think a configuration with multiple grids would solve it: A grid charged to a small negative potential with respect to the ...

Where are the WB-6/WB-7 limits ?

Hi everyone. I'm just another new guy in this forum, and would like to start my posts with one asking those who know better these machines about what we can expect from WB-7. What I wonder is how much can it be driven beyond the conditions in the WB-6 experiments?. I'd like to know some educated gue...
