I think it is awesome!
Constellation was a money sink, a government job programme and an expensive one at that. Taxes were used to create jobs that produce something that the government pays for over and over again. Not a good businessmodel (for the government).

The Byzantine Empire issued a plea for help from their fellow Christians in Europe. This plea was answered. Well, actually one of the crusades (I am not sure anymore, I think it was the third) had the only goal to destroy the Byzantine Empire and the eastern church. It lead to the complete and fina...

But Jupiter will never have enough launches to be cost effective. Just like the shuttle. Each individual launch will be too expensive and the total number of heavy lift launches that are needed worldwide is too low. That is why Ariane 6 will actually have LESS payload than Ariane 5 currently has. So...

If you think this wikipedia entry was rewritten by some Winston Smith, please tell me, with a reference. Sorry I cant right now. I only know this from my grandfather. He was quite young during that time, but he was smart and he did get a lot of things. Anyway, he cited this quite often as an exampl...

As far as I know decimation was more a Roman practice and a quite older one. Maybe you are reminding the 1917 mutinies after which 50 soldiers were court-martialled and shot to make an example. Ah yeah, it is only 50 now. I see. I guess if you give it a couple more decades, it never happened. LOL O...

"In this country, it is wise to kill an admiral from time to time to give courage to the others." This kinda reminds me of the last decimation in history. During WW1, the french had every 10th soldier of an army (cant remember anymore which one it was)step foreward to report to the execution. To im...

Now one has to understand that a lot of what is happening in the muslim world is not just a religious problem, but also a nationality problem. I think it has in part to do with how the usual suspects decided to draw borders in the region and to split up things among then... until they left. Every no...

Hillarious Carbon Credit Debacle
This is just to funny to pass up. http://gizmodo.com/5464326/phishing-for-carbon-hackers-steal-millions-in-emissions-certificates Personally I think the while carbon credits thing is ridiculous bullcrap (independendly of whether AGW exists or not), but as usual noone ever asks me. So whoever bought ...

Yep. I've had hobbyspace's RSS feed piped into one of my browsers for a couple of years now. Been an avid reader of the site ever since it came to life. The news are top and the main topic (LVs and RLVs) is what interests me most. I dont care too much about unmanned probes, or the latest hubble pic...

Hobby space is IMHO the best resource in regards to information on the whole matter. I completely share Clarks opinion on all this as well. I recommend you go there and read up a bit.
