Hypersonic sky hooks never made any sense to me, how do you keep a rotation body up there if you're using up some of it's momentum to take additional space ships up? I've been following space elevators for nearly a decade and the physics for how that's a sustainable system has always been straight f...

Given the triviality of photoshop, even pics aren't that big of guarantor. Really though, you could jump and down and shout treason every time a president signs a treaty, any time you do that you cede a little bit of autonomy away. You can't do whatever you want in a neighborhood, you gotta respect ...

Had me pretty excited there, but no, it's theoretical paper, not a declaration of discovery. Neat idea though.

There's also the similarity humans have with everything on the planet, i mean, we have a very non-zero % genetic overlap with everything that has a vertebrae on the planet. Let alone mammals.

You should read Larry Niven's Protector series. It postulates that the human race is still descended from homo habalis, but homo habalis is actually an alien species from near the center of the galaxy. They have a more involved life cycle than we do, starting with grub babies much like our own, and ...

So there's an energy Symposium taking place at the University of Iowa next weekend, and I think I'll go. I'd like to make some pamphlets and raise some awareness about the polywell, I'd obviously require some graphics that describe the field line behavior and some catchy numbers concerning fuel rate...

Reading that paragraph and interpreting "observable optical effects" to mean "loads" you're suggesting that this article provides support for viability of the electron cloud in the center of a polywell?

No, Msimon is saying it would accellerate off of earths surface at 1 m/s^2, as in it is lifting off of it's own power. That would be a best case scenario, but even if it doesn't happen, any ejection-less thruster would mean "indefinite" in space acceleration which means you could get up a pretty hea...
