Re: Factor X have we finally found the fountain of Youth?
Yup. I would add that there is no statistical sample to base ourselves on for what happens long term in, or for how predictable is, such a future of long lived populations. Because of lifespan (cultural horizon) and because of the usual technological horizon. A looming cambrian explosion, for all we...

Didn't remember that aspect of Caligula when I wrote above. Assumed it was same ol "immortal tyrants" argument. Edit That was an immortal tyrants argument. Nm. Hillary Clinton (or Madonna) would be capable of does give me pause The power of politicians historically, to this day, is the scarcity of s...

Re: Factor X have we finally found the fountain of Youth?
There's no humane justification for denying future generations the well being of longer, less hurried lives. This perception bothers me quite a lot. Considering the sweep of history, i'm not sure extending lives is necessarily a good thing at all. I can just imagine what a longer lived Caligula mig...

Re: New Polywell Article On HotGas
It's insidiously unfeasible because of sociopolitical reality, but the real issue is the paradigm paralysis of general public (and consequent political/corporate status quo) WRT curing aging. And yet social programs could sacrifice a few percent of their funding, for their current short term benefit...

Re: EM Drive
My comments aren't related to the experiments. Let them experiment all they want. My comments are that anyone who critiques, in a civil manner, has their post removed (You noted Rodal has had his removed) or that their posts are drowned out. If a valid critique is not addressed or ignored, that pos...

Re: And in every thread in this forum!
MSimon- A vulgar way to contrast you and GIT would be that both can talk anything to death but only one does it with fingers in his ears. How about you grow a spine and stop making everything about your atheism? These issues have nothing to do with religion. They have to do with simple common sense....

Betruger apparently has a very limited skills when it comes to reading for comprehension a Same political rhetoric as always. None of you are doing this poor bastard any favors by pretending it doesn't matter how he has thrown his life away. Two assumptions; one is wrong (first hand knowledge), the...

He is sure because he is a quixotic Believer. That passion of his is as much of a blind spot as if he looked at nothing except via Perseus' mirror shield.. So pretty much everything is seen tinted. Ironically enough (or not really - that's what people do: perceive most readily in others their own ri...

Re: Only Progressives Are Adults? Ask Jeb Bush
I think there's some kinda misunderstanding. I'm not getting into an argument over there because I'm not eloquent enough, and don't have as much experience to draw from in terms of concrete evidence to back up my arguments. I'd have to do a lot of homework for it instead of being able to mostly shoo...

I don't have 80 minutes to rule it out, but I can seek around the length of the video, and it seems to load fine. Google Chrome, latest version.
