Lol!
Be even more shocked, FAA signed off on the final yesterday too. Launch attempt tomorrow morning confirmed.

Re: SpaceX News
Launch timelines are posted on the SpaceX website.
Current consensus seems to be a 0800 to 1030 Eastern launch window. Still tracking for Friday.
Fish & Wildlife paperwork is reported (and posted) complete, now waiting on FAA final approval.

Re: Superunifaction startup
I can't believe their are people who still think he has something. Complete scam. He was smart enough to draft his actions in a way that he could never be blamed or accused for not delivering. He probably learned a lot from "experienced" artists like BLP, or from his previous experiences. I blame m...

Re: SpaceX News
Tracking for launch windows on the 17th, with backups 18th and 19th. Paperwork still not officially released, however reporting indicates it is done, just not released. SpaceX continues 'short final' (see what I did there? :) ) launch preps. I expect a restack tomorrow or Thursday. I am unclear as t...
Re: EM Drive
Tracking Satellites is not real time. You need multiple orbits through the Fences to get an accurate track. Optical tracking only works in short windows and if the weather cooperates during the observation windows. While Optical can be used to calculate orbits, it is more about getting a look at the...

Rossi isn't dead yet. He is still trying to roll with the same old story, punt and repunt with "upgrades and new designs", followed by "verification and testing by the highest authorities" without ever presenting an actual product. I can't believe their are people who still think he has something. C...

Re: SpaceX News
SpaceX seems to be positioned to launch as soon as they get the admin approval. The FAA has completed the safety review, and now the final hurdle appears to be Fish & Wildlife Review. With paper in hand, all SpaceX needs to do to launch is install/activiate the Flight Termination System (<1 day), st...

Re: Helion Energy to demonstrate net electricity production by 2024
Rewind shops are certainly an option. The limitation would likely be in the available winding jigs. They may well need to create a custom jig. However, once made, it is from that point on available for use. More importantly, they have the bake ovens and other infrastructure required for durable larg...

Re: SpaceX News
Word is they could launch IFT-2 next week. Full Wet Dress Rehearsal completed, and they unstacked today, in likely preparation to install Flight Termination charges. Also, the air and maritime notices have been updated for launch event window from 1 November through 6 November. The sooner SpaceX get...

Well, I did retire once already. Working on my second time.
I routinely seek to gafia, even at work these days.

Re: National Ignition Facility
You speak of Project Gnome, under the Plowshare program, executed in 1961. The idea was to use underground detonations in a salt formation to melt the salt, then capture the heat with water piped through the salt slag, and then use this for steam turbine power generation. As I understand, the molten...

Re: National Ignition Facility
You may not be wrong in that. Perceptions run the world. That said, water absorbs tremendous amounts of energy. It is not far fetched to consider heating large water volumes with low yield detonations, then recovering the energy from the water. If done in an isolated or remote area, might be sellabl...
